The “Alte Schmiede am Asitz" – an Alpine jewel!
Leogang’s most elevated restaurant and museum in one.
The museum restaurant “Die Alte Schmiede” (located 40 m away from the Asitz cablecar mountain station) is located 1,760 metres above sea level and extends over an area of 2,300 square metres. The restaurant can seat a total of 410 in six rooms. The quaint Schmiede – or smithy – is a vaulted lathe-and-plaster structure. In addition, there is the Mühle (mill), the Almstube (or mountain snug) with fireplace, the Spielberg snug, the gallery and the 'new snug'. Sun worshipers will appreciate the sun terrace, which can seat up to 450.
We can offer you the event of your dreams in a unique ambience, with plenty of space for an Alpine Triathlon, award ceremonies or other highlights. We will be happy to provide a compere. If a ‘mountain lodge evening’ strikes your fancy, we will be happy to organise some traditional Alpine music, while a live band is just the thing for a wedding or birthday celebration. During the day and ‘après ski’, a DJ will spin the best disks: good spirits guaranteed. We will also be happy to serve you regional Salzburg delicacies during an ‘Evening of Austrian Cuisine’. Or what about a delicious choice of menus including vegetarian specialties? You can be sure that every meal will be a culinary treat.
If you’re planning an event in the evening or outside the normal Leogang cablecar operating hours, we will naturally arrange your transfer from the valley station to the Asitz and back (for a fee). It takes just 15 minutes with the Asitz gondola ropeway to reach the "Alte Schmiede am Asitz" museum restaurant - a treat to savour.
Curious? Why not drop by? The Altenberger family and the whole Krallerhof team look forward to your visit!
