They each have a different special focus, and they host some very different events. But they do have certain things in common, such as their outstanding food and their welcoming atmosphere. And they all bear the signature of Sepp Altenberger jun. As a keen discoverer and preserver of our heritage, he is passionate about tracking down traditional artefacts from days gone by. And then he loves to show them to his guests in the form of museum-restaurants. The KrallerAlm, the Alte Schmiede and the AsitzBräu – all three mountain restaurants are bursting with fascinating historic finds.
For over 40 years, the KrallerAlm has been known as one of the most original event venues in the mountains. As soon as it opened in 1976, it became the place to go in Leogang and the local area. Restaurant, pizzeria, nightclub and bar – the Alm is all of these – and more.
In winter, there's après-ski here in the afternoons and every Wednesday it's the venue for the spectacular ski hut jumping with the Red Devils from the Skiszene Altenberger ski school. And, of course, afterwards the partying goes on until the small hours. In summer, this is a great place to enjoy the last rays of sunshine with a sundowner on the spacious terrace. You'll find excellent food, good music and a great atmosphere, just 100 metres from the Krallerhof on the Steinberg ski slope.
Rustic, cosy, cool. Situated less than 40 metres from the top station of the Asitz and Steinberg cable cars, the Alte Schmiede is in a stunning location at 1760 m above sea level.
It has been the place to meet up on the mountain ever since it opened in the year 2000: in winter, it's an award-winning ski hut with a great après-ski atmosphere, and in summer it's an unusual venue for cultural events. From the legendary "Sound tracks on the Asitz", through folk music to House Grooves, you won't find such a wide variety of live music anywhere else. The Alte Schmiede is also extremely varied in culinary terms. Ranging from hearty mountain hut fare to pizza and regional delicacies, the tasty food here has made this a gastronomic highlight for years.
Located up at 1760 m above sea level, Europe's highest brewing museum boasts sensational views, fascinating exhibits and numerous events of all genres.
In winter there's après-ski every day, the Asitz Music Night with live music, the spectacular Fire & Ice Show and the musical highlight, "SOUND tracks meet SKI tracks", in a magnificent snow-covered setting. In summer, the AsitzBräu is the venue for the "SOUND tracks" concert series on the Asitz and the Altholz festival, presenting the best of House Grooves. The beer on tap at the AsitzBräu is AsitzBräu beer, brewed exclusively for us by the oldest steam brewery in East Tirol, to a special AsitzBräu recipe. To go with it, original brewhouse food: roasted chicken, pork hock and sausage specialities and delicious treats from the beechwood grill.
